Cadet courses

HBWATG's cadet courses start with the Easter Mountain Activities course in North Wales, and finish in November with the Winter expedition in the Lake District. These courses are available to any cadet from every one of the 30 units in Herts & Bucks Wing.

Staff training

The period between November and Easter is used mainly for Wing staff training. These events range from winter mountaineering trips to Scotland to weekends spent walking, biking or paddling. These trips are invaluable for people working towards a professional qualification like the ML as they provide an opportunity to gain experience of new areas and develop technical skills under the guidance of more experienced colleagues. The trip reports give a good indication of what we get up to
