Introducing HBWATG
The group is an established centre of competence within the Wing with a vital role in developing the next generation of leaders and instructors. Most of the current instructors first encountered adventure training by attending the group's courses as cadets Outside the Wing, the group is well known for its overseas expeditions, including an unsupported canoe journey through the Canadian wilderness in 2000 and the ascent of a 20,000' Himalayan mountain in 1991 - the picture above shows members of the group crossing a glacier at 19,500' just before they climbed the ice cliff to the summit ridge This site provides information about the group and its activities - past, present and future. It also provides information of wider interest to anyone involved with adventure training in the Air Training Corps |
